The №1 Emotion to Master to Help Release the Shackles of Anxiety

I‘ve been giving this a lot of thought lately. For me, it’s gratitude. Without question. Now, let’s flesh it out a little and discover why…

Firstly, the return on investment is humongous. Gratitude is quite literally a weapon of mass destruction to combat unhealthy negative emotions. Not to mention it doesn’t cost a penny.

I don’t come from the school of belief that you can’t be anxious and grateful at the same time. That’s bullshit — you can totally be anxious and grateful at the same time, especially when expressing your gratitude to someone else, which can feel foreign, vulnerable, and terrifying. But if it’s genuine, you know you’re moving in the right direction.

My belief is that if you train your mind to cultivate gratitude, those negative emotions are far more likely to fuck off. As a result, the positive emotions — take happiness, for example — you’re being sold that always seem a little — or a lot — out of reach are far more likely to show up in your daily life. All because you train your mind to STOP focussing on what you perceive to be shit and to start focusing on all that you have, that’s actually pretty great, but — unfortunately — we’ve been conditioned to take for granted.
